European training program

The Partnership "Compostela Wine Route" is created to become a reference concerning the practical learning of wine tourism activities in Europe. This project will allow to link different sector abilities (oenology, wine growing, tourism, local resources and activities) because the agents related this activity demands to improve professional with a practical training in wineries and tourism offices.

A modern Wine Tourism needs Professional Guides to improve the quality of the supply. This project also will incorporate contens of sustainable tourism development, the environmental respect, with which it wil have beneficial effects for the improvement of rural areas (economic-social and environmental) inviolved: most number of wineries are established in this kind of areas. Last but not least. this project will incorporate the use of the ICT´s: it will form the participants, giving them scope for develop practical avilities.

This project includes a partner from the newly EU countries with wine tourist activities, with a culture not linked to the calssic concept of the "camino" but with an interesting European Cultural Heritage Itinerary as the others partners. The partnership offer a new innovation and can allows to contribute to a renewal and contemporary orientation of this cultural territory, allowing different activities and promotion of culture, knowledge and investigation, from the links established between training and labour.

To develop this project a Leonardo Association has formed involving different institutions from different European regions.

Participants

Current partners are an association of Spain and two training centers in Italy and Hungary

Objectives:

  1. Increase of attractive and quality of proffesional training. To define contents and to establish a methodology concerning learning for guides of wine tourism.
  2. Development and implementation of common tools for VET. To establish a European label for learning in guiding of wine tourism.
  3. Strength mutual learning. To increase inter-sector relation (small agro-industry, tourism, education, another services) to help develop practical training adapted to needs of economic, social and environmental agents involved.
  4. Participation of all the interested agents. Sensitised to local, regional, national and communitarian agents, organizations, companies and institutions about the good paractices and quality of wine tourism for sustainable economic, social and environmental development.
